Senior Software Engineer

• Contract Length: 6 Months with the view to extend.
• Day Rate: $1,100 - $1,200/day
• Location: North Sydney CBD.
• Hybrid Working: 1-2 days in office per week (typically 1)

The Position and purpose:

You'll work as part of a crossfunctional engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of modern backend systems. You'll also collaborate closely with product managers, QA, and other developers across regions.

The team is also set to kick off a number of major cloud transformation initiatives in the new year, providing a great opportunity to work on greenfield architecture and scalable infrastructure.

Experience Required:

• 8+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot development
• 2+ years of experience in Kotlin
• Experience with Quarkus (1+ years)
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Kafka, and microservices architecture
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases (3+ years)
• CI/CD expertise using Jenkins, with exposure to vulnerability management and code coverage tooling
• Proficient in monitoring and logging with tools such as Dynatrace
• Cloud experience, particularly with AWS
• Solid background in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Comfortable collaborating across distributed teams and working with tools like GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
