EIB Trainee – Management Committee Directorate – Internal Audit Department – Professional Practices Unit – based in Luxembourg

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Management Committee (MC) – Internal Audit Department (IA) – Professional Practices Unit (PPU), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.

Objective of the traineeship

You will assist primarily the Internal Audit Department to implement its strategic orientations, in particular the “ways of working” initiative. You will also contribute to reporting analysis and quality assurance activities.

This position will offer excellent opportunities to gain insight into a wide range of internal audit activities at the EIB including reporting, analysis, projects and digitalisation. You can apply your communication skills in a professional environment; gain practical experience of working with highly skilled professionals on audit matters.

Responsibilities

You will support the Audit Methodology, Planning, Reporting & Quality Assurance Officer and the Head of PPU (Professional Practices Unit) in the following areas:

• Ways of working projects with initiatives to improve the audit process
• Develop templates for the wider Internal Audit team.
• Use of technology and data analytics to facilitate analysis and reporting.
• Quality assurance: support the review of work papers
  
  

Your tasks will be various, ranging from data processing, data analysis, quality checks, internal communication with auditors and presentations.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or University degree in math, information technology, accounting, business administration or another relevant discipline;
• Have advanced IT skills including excellent knowledge of MS-Office applications (in particular Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
• Knowledge of PowerBI or any data visualization;
• Organisational abilities, commitment and accuracy;
• Attention to detail
• Comfortable working with numbers and creating reports;
• Good communication skills with ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; Knowledge of French and/or other EU language would be an advantage;
