My client based in City West Dublin are currently on the lookout for a Network Engineer to join our growing team. This role is open to both junior and mid-level professionals, with responsibilities and scope of work tailored to experience.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in networking principles, hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper technologies, and a recognized industry certification (CCNA or Juniper).
You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure, with opportunities to grow and take on more complex projects as your skills develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Assist with or lead (depending on level) network upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Support daily network operations, incident response, and escalation as needed.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other teams to maintain secure and optimized networks.
- Create and update technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
- Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security compliance efforts.
- Mentor and share knowledge within the team (for mid-level).
Requirements
Must Have:
- Cisco CCNA or Juniper certification (JNCIA/JNCIS).
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience Levels:
- Junior Level (2 years): Hands-on experience in networking/IT support, with eagerness to learn and grow.
- Mid-Level (3–5 years): Proven experience managing enterprise networks, strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), switching technologies (STP, VLAN, trunking), and network security concepts (ACLs, NAT, VPNs, firewalls).
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Additional certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions.
