Backend Developer

We’re looking for passionate Junior Java developers to join our Back end Team in Milan.
Required Skill
Passion. You have a real passion for writing software, maybe demonstrated through university projects, personal initiatives, or open-source contributions.
Interest in solid architectures and clean code. You’re eager to learn how to organize your code well, and you've started exploring frameworks like Spring or Quarkus.
Bored of repetitive tasks. You’re curious about CI/CD automation and have a basic understanding of containerization concepts.
Strong foundations. You’re confident with Object-Oriented programming, basic design patterns, and have experience working with relational databases.
Overall vision. Even as a backend developer, you’re interested in understanding how your work fits into the bigger picture. You enjoy collaborating with the Design team thanks to your UX sensibility, and you like working closely with Frontend developers to ensure seamless integration.
Precision and organization. You’re tidy and structured in your approach. You can take care of small-sized tasks with attention and dedication.
Proficient in English. You read and write proficiently and can carry a technical conversation when needed
Required Technical Skills
- Development experience with Java 11+, even from academic or personal projects. Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring. Knowledge of Quarkus is appreciated.
- Basic understanding of server-side templating languages, such as Thymeleaf.
- Basic familiarity with front-end technologies, such as HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience using Git and version control workflows (e.g., GitFlow) in team or personal projects.
- Experience in designing or consuming REST APIs. Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.
- Understanding of basic Web Security concepts.
- First-hand experience using Docker.
- Basic knowledge of Bash scripting.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of Quarkus.
- Development skills in other stacks (e.g., Node.js, frontend frameworks).
- Understanding of the GraphQL query language.
- Understanding of Kubernetes or other orchestration systems.
- Experience working with Agile principles, especially Scrum or Kanban (even from university or personal practice).
- Contributions to any cool Open Source project.
- Interest in Docker and cloud-native development.

You will join a team working with the best of breed technologies to develop solutions for 1st class brands worldwide, mainly in Insurance, Healthcare and Finance industries.
You will be supported by experienced developers and gradually entrusted with tasks and areas of responsibility. You’ll contribute to the development of software from start to finish, learning how to own your scope and collaborate with others.
You will work closely with other team members and, progressively, also with the Customer.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the team, by proposing ideas, exploring new technologies, and helping us improve our stack and development guidelines.
