Key Responsibilities
- Administer and operate Kafka clusters, ensuring high-availability production readiness.
- Tune Kafka configurations, partitions, replication, and producers/consumers for optimal performance.
- Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools (Infrastructure as Code).
- Implement monitoring solutions and troubleshoot performance, latency, and failure issues.
- Ensure secure data transmission, access control, and compliance with security best practices.
- Integrate Kafka with CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and automation processes.
- Plan for capacity, scalability, and failover strategies.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to support Kafka-based applications.
- Provide technical support, update documentation, and contribute to the knowledge base.
- 2+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Kafka administration.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (setup, tuning, troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes-based Kafka deployments.
- Familiarity with Kafka Connect, KSQL, Schema Registry, Zookeeper.
- Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, ELK, Splunk).
- Understanding of networking, security, and access control for Kafka clusters.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ITIL certification is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.
- Experience with Confluent Kafka or other managed Kafka solutions.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and stream processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams).
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Certifications in Kafka, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms.
- EU citizenship.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
