Full Stack PHP / JavaScript Engineer - Contract to Hire

Our client is a privately held national trade association in business for over 100 years. They represent over 600 companies and are consitently recognized as one of the largest trade associations in the United States.

The Job: They are seeking a highly motivated, NYC based web developer with at least 2 years of professional experience working across the full stack with PHP and JavaScript. This is a critical hire that will work directly with engineering leadership and company executives and there is tremendous opportunity for growth within the organization. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, an excellent work ethic, and a willingness to work in person out of the company's NYC headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. This is a 6 month contract to hire position with the plan to retain this person as a cornerstone piece of their web development team for years to come. Only candidates local to New York City and able to work on a W2 with no sponsorship, visa transfers, or 3rd party consulting firms will be considered.

Job Title: Full Stack PHP / JavaScript Engineer - Contract to Hire

Required Technical Skills

• 2+ years of web development experience with proven production experience working with both PHP and JavaScript in a full stack capactity
• Strong Object Oriented Programming (OOP) fundamentals and a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with Boostrap or a similar responsive, mobile-first front-end web development framework
• Professional experience working with MySQL database
• Strong communication skills and an excellent work ethic
• Must be comfortable interviewing in-person in the company's office and upon starting the position, working on-site on a daily basis
• Authorized to work in the United States on a W2 basis
  
  

Additional Experience

• Prior experience working with commonly used PHP MVC frameworks, specifically Symfony
• Comfortable working in a Service Orietented Architecture environment and familiarity with both web services and RESTful API's
• Capable of working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Interest in working with additional object oriented programming languages such as Python as the organization adopts microservices in the future
• Familiarity with commonly used Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance your day to day work and aid with coding
  
  

Pay Range And Benefits

• 6 month contract up to $45 / hour W2 (no sponsorship, visa transfers, or 3rd party consulting firms will be considered)
• Conversion to full time employee after 6 months in the range of $80,000 - $90,000 annual salary
• 4 day work week consisting of Monday - Thursday with the company being closed on Friday's, excellent work life balance
• After 90 days on contract, you will be elidigible for Talener's W2 consultant benefits including medical, dental, vision plans and paid sick time in accordance with New York State laws
• Upon conversion, you will be elidigible for the company's full time benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.
