Job Title: Java EE Developer

Duration: 11 Months

Location: Austin, TX

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze legacy Java EE components, including EJB, JPA , and SOAP services, to support architectural decision-making.
  • Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning.
  • Support technical walkthroughs and documentation activities to map current application behavior, dependencies, and integration points.
  • Collaborate with architects and business analysts to help ensure modernization efforts retain core business logic and interoperability.
  • Assist in migrating legacy systems to cloud-native platforms, emphasizing microservices and API-driven architectures.
  • Utilize AI code analysis tools for examining legacy Java EE applications.
  • Extract and document detailed business requirements and rules based on existing code.
  • Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to validate and adjust identified requirements.
  • Identify and record technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details within legacy systems.
  • Analyze business objectives, user requirements, and operational procedures to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform cost/benefit analysis of proposed alternatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and organizational personnel to understand data input, processing needs, and reporting requirements.
  • Document detailed user needs, program functions, workflows, and steps required for system development or modification.
  • Review system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling constraints to determine feasibility of program changes.
  • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications using Java EE technologies.
  • Ensure applications meet standards for modularity, security, scalability, and interoperability.
  • Support system modernization by enhancing automation and improving existing computer systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Required Qualification

  • 12+ years of Deep hands-on experience in Java and Java EE development, including EJB, JPA, and SOAP-based services. Able to analyze legacy codebases and identify transformation paths for cloud migration.
  • 12+ years of Proficiency in Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8, including deployment on enterprise-grade application servers.
  • 12+ years of Experience with object-relational mapping and integrating persistence layers with business logic.
  • 10+ years of Ability to work with cross-functional teams including architects, business analysts, and security engineers to align development with business goals.
  • 8+ years of Proven experience with, or strong understanding of, AI code analysis tools for static analysis, code understanding, and pattern recognition.
  • 8+ years of Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • 8+ years of Exposure to cloud-native transformation strategies, including containerization, elastic scaling, and loosely coupled interfaces.
  • 8+ years of Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement in collaboration with product owners and SMEs.
  • 8+ years of Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • 8+ years of Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.

Preferred Qualification

  • 6+ years of Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • 6+ years of Experience with requirement elicitation and documentation.
