Freelance Graphic Designer - Remote

A Graphic Designer is required to create functional and marketable product designs for speech-language pathologists. The role involves producing clean, bold, and minimal artwork for items such as T-shirts, travel mugs, stickers, and temporary tattoos. These designs will serve not only as appealing merchandise but also as functional therapy tools. The project’s focus is on typographic phrases containing common speech sound targets and consistent, category-based illustrations (animals, food, vehicles, clothing) to support therapy activities. The initial scope includes a first batch of designs by winter 2025, with ongoing opportunities for additional projects. This is a freelance remote role with flexibility for creative input.

Responsibilities

• Design clean, bold, and minimal graphics suitable for multiple product types
• Create typographic phrases featuring common speech sound targets
• Develop consistent illustrations across categories such as animals, food, vehicles, and clothing
• Adapt artwork for merchandise including T-shirts, mugs, stickers, and temporary tattoos
• Ensure designs are functional for therapy while maintaining strong visual appeal
• Collaborate on ideas and provide creative recommendations for marketability
• Deliver print-ready files formatted for production across product types

Skills and Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio of merchandise or educational designs
• Expertise in typography and layout with an emphasis on clarity and readability
• Ability to produce simple, bold, and consistent illustrations across multiple categories
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of preparing designs for printing on apparel and merchandise
• Strong creative judgment with the ability to balance functionality and commercial appeal
• Remote work capability with consistent communication and timely delivery of milestones
