Data Scientist

We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Data Scientist to contribute to an ongoing cutting-edge data science project.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support projects focused on advanced optimization and predictive modeling. The successful candidates will apply their expertise in statistical modeling, integer programming, and clustering methods to solve complex business problems and transfer knowledge to internal staff. This fully remote position offers a six month contract with an expected start date in September. There is potential for extension, also.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing predictive models and statistical models (Bayesian modeling).
• Applying integer programming and Gurobi to solve optimization problems such as bin packing, traveling salesman problem (TSP), and clustering.
• Utilizing Python and data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, Polars) to process and analyze large datasets.
• Managing code and dependencies using Git and Poetry.
• Implementing DevOps practices, ensuring smooth deployment and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Working with Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, and other cloud-based data management tools.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, reading logs, and ensuring efficient execution of machine learning workflows.
• Leveraging Power Apps and Power Automate for automation and workflow optimization.
• Effectively articulating data science processes, methodologies, and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Providing knowledge transfer and training for internal staff to enhance their understanding and application of data science techniques.
