Job Description – Data Architect / AI Architect

Location: Luxembourg – Onsite

Contract: 12-month rolling freelance contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect / AI Architect to join a leading financial institution in Luxembourg. This is a long-term freelance assignment where you will design and integrate advanced data and AI solutions into complex IT environments, working closely with Datalab, IT ADM, and IT IPS teams.

You will play a key role in shaping the client’s AI strategy, ensuring robust and scalable architectures that cover both legacy systems and new applications, with a strong focus on data integrity, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of data and AI systems within a financial services environment.
• Define and implement solutions involving structured, unstructured, multi-modal data (text, sound, images, tabular, etc.).
• Ensure effective integration of AI models into enterprise IT systems.
• Deploy and optimize AI/ML/LLM models on GPU-based infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Datalab and IT teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.
• Bring a critical, forward-looking perspective based on state-of-the-art AI and data practices.
• Provide technical guidance on data modeling, database architecture, and system integration.
• Support the transition from legacy to modern, containerised environments.

Key Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

• 6+ years in IT with at least 3+ years in data/AI architecture.
• Proven experience in database technologies: Postgres, Oracle.
• Strong expertise in containers & orchestration: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker.
• Experience with Big Data & Data Visualization tools.
• Hands-on knowledge of Vector Databases and multi-modal data processing.
• Expertise in AI system design and integration within enterprise IT.
• Experience with GPU-based model deployment.
• Strong background in IT and solution architecture.
• EU nationality, fluent French + English.

Nice-to-Have:

• Knowledge of DevOps & AI deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and AI agents.
• Experience in banking/financial environments.
