About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to join our Link Payment Experience team. In this pivotal role, you will lead frontend initiatives aimed at enhancing the paying experience across the Link product suite. Your responsibilities will include defining frontend architecture patterns, developing reusable components, and collaborating closely with engineering, design, and product teams to deliver innovative and user-centric solutions.

You will play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy, establishing best practices, and mentoring engineers to foster growth and technical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Stripe’s payment interfaces and improve the overall user experience for millions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full-time software development roles.
• 8+ years designing and engineering high-impact user interfaces and products.
• Strong product and design sensibilities with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Deep technical expertise in frontend technologies, patterns, and best practices.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, capable of roadmapping and managing complex projects across multiple teams.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks and languages, particularly React and TypeScript.
• Self-directed, autonomous, and able to deliver scaled impact across multiple initiatives.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of performant, polished user experiences for the Link product.
• Drive frontend architecture discussions and establish scalable, maintainable patterns.
• Partner with engineering, product, and design leadership to define and execute technical strategies.
• Establish and promote best practices and repeatable processes within the frontend team.
• Make informed tradeoffs that align with business priorities, user experience goals, and technical sustainability.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term roadmaps for frontend development initiatives.
• Collaborate with platform teams across Stripe to share best practices and communicate Link-specific needs.
• Utilize technologies such as TypeScript and React to build modular, reusable components.
• Mentor and guide engineers to grow as technical leaders within Stripe.
