Junior Data Scientist

We are looking for dynamic professionals to be part of a regional network of digital innovators, contributing to the development of advanced digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and operational excellence by supporting the development of business technology initiatives that enhance the capabilities of Epiroc’s Asia Pacific customer centers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications which meet the needs of APAC Customer Centers with an immediate focus on the rapid development of a bespoke, automated data analytics platform to provide regional Customer Data analysis and actionable insights to support continuous improvement processes.
• Apply AI and machine learning techniques to support data analysis and enhance the effectiveness of ongoing development projects across the region.
• Collect, clean, and analyze operational and equipment data from internal systems and customer sources to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support business units in areas such as product performance, service efficiency, and parts forecasting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, service, and business technology to define data requirements and develop meaningful metrics.
• Apply system development methodologies to define functional requirements, document processes, and support the design and implementation of analytical tools and solutions.
• Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and integrations between operational systems and analytics platforms.
• Support digital transformation initiatives by identifying and promoting the use of data in decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, customer inquiries, or field operation’s needs.
• Ensure data quality and governance standards are followed across all analytics activities.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, and best practices in analytics, with a focus on mining and industrial equipment.
  
  

Qualifications:

Education Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematical Science or a related field.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Data Platforms such as Databricks
• AI/Machine Learning experience
• Data Analysis experience
• Microsoft Desktop, Development and Power Tools (Windows, Azure, Visual Studio, BI, Automate)
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc).
• Database design and implementation
• Task Planning and Management with tools such as Jira, Asana or MS Planner
• Software Development and Testing with one or more languages such as C#, .NET, Python and Javascript.

• End-to-End ERP Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the entire ERP system, with specific expertise in workflows. This knowledge will enable you to effectively navigate and utilize the ERP system for optimal operations.
