Bridgend, Wales | Up to £60,000 + Package
A growing organisation in the financial services sector is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their technology team in Bridgend, South Wales. This is a standalone, on-site role ideal for someone with an operations or infrastructure background who understands the full software delivery lifecycle, from deployment and troubleshooting to CI/CD optimisation and automation.
This is a true DevOps role. While the environment includes Azure cloud tools, the focus is not on cloud engineering - it's about pipeline ownership, system reliability, and delivery improvement. You'll be part of a wider remote team but will operate independently on site, taking full responsibility for your environment.
You'll support legacy and modern application infrastructure, working with .NET and SQL-based systems. You'll manage deployments, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvements to efficiency and reliability.
This role will suit someone who is comfortable working autonomously, confident in their technical decisions, and keen to identify areas for automation and optimisation.
Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines across development, testing, and production environments
Deploy and support .NET applications, SQL Server databases, and SSIS packages
Troubleshoot legacy systems and identify opportunities for modernisation
Collaborate with remote teams while managing all local DevOps responsibilities
Support scripting and automation efforts using tools such as PowerShell
Operate within a hybrid cloud environment, primarily using Azure DevOps and related services
Strong DevOps background, ideally from infrastructure, operations, or application support
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, OctopusDeploy, or TeamCity
Knowledge of SQL Server and SSIS
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform)
Comfortable working independently on site while collaborating with distributed teams
Confident communicator with excellent problem-solving and delivery skills
Experience with Azure is beneficial, though not the primary focus
Salary up to £60,000
Permanent role based on site in Bridgend
Opportunity to take full ownership of DevOps delivery in a business-critical environment
Exposure to major automation and AI-led initiatives
Support for professional development and future progression
If you're looking for a hands-on DevOps role where you can make a direct impact, shape delivery processes, and be part of a modernisation journey, apply now to find out more.
