ICT Shared Services Project Manager
Rate Guide: $800 - $1100 per day (plus super at 12%)
Location of Work: Canberra, ACT (Onsite at Government House)
Contract Duration: Until 30 June 2026
Start Date: 29 September 2025
Maximum Hours per Week: 37.5 hours (7.5 hours per day)
Security Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1
Job Details
An experienced Project Manager is required to lead the transition of ICT services from an internal arrangement to a shared services model. This role will oversee the transfer of services to the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) while ensuring value for money, service continuity, and delivery of a fit-for-purpose solution.
The position will also provide technical and managerial leadership to the in-house ICT team (currently four staff), and deliver strong, strategic advice to senior stakeholders. This is a high-profile role requiring demonstrated success in delivering ICT projects within government environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Manage the transition of ICT services to a shared services provider, ensuring continuity and value for money.
- Provide high-quality advice to senior stakeholders on ICT and transition matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and governance arrangements.
- Ensure IT systems and data remain secure, reliable, and compliant.
- Manage and support ICT Operations staff, budgets, and resources.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical staff.
Essential Criteria
- Financial Management (SFIA Level 4): Experience monitoring financial records for compliance and audit, calculating costs for planning and budgeting, and preparing reports for decision-making.
- Project Management (SFIA Level 5): Demonstrated success leading medium-scale ICT projects with full accountability for planning, delivery, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management (SFIA Level 5): Ability to identify, build, and manage stakeholder relationships, facilitate open communication, and act as a trusted point of contact for decision-making.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in managing ICT transitions to shared services environments.
- Strong understanding of ICT governance, risk, and compliance in government contexts.
Working Arrangements
- This is a full-time onsite role based at Government House, Canberra.
- Attendance onsite is required to provide support, leadership, and continuity throughout the ICT transition process.
