Senior Infrastructure Engineer – 12 Month Contract | Canberra

Location: Canberra (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months initial, with potential extension up to 24 months

Clearance: Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for NV1

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role

Prozory is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient ICT infrastructure. You’ll work across gateway platforms, networking, cloud, and cyber security technologies to ensure critical services remain robust and secure.

This is a hands-on and strategic role where you’ll provide expert advice, oversee technical operations, mentor juniors and contribute to ICT strategy while managing infrastructure lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and implement network infrastructure.
• Provide expert technical support for project build, testing, and deployments.
• Maintain design, implementation and support documentation.
• Mentor and share expertise with less experienced colleagues.
• Research emerging technologies and advise on suitability.
• Manage backup, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Oversee patching, maintenance, and gateway network operations.
• Engage with stakeholders to build capability and shape ICT direction.

Technical Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience designing, managing, and maintaining internet gateways or large-scale data centre networks.
• Networking: Cisco ACI, Routers, Nexus switches, BGP/OSPF/EIGRP.
• Security: Palo Alto firewalls, IPS solutions, VPNs, Infoblox DNS/email.
• Load Balancing/Proxies: F5, Blue Coat.
• Cloud: Hybrid and public cloud integration.
• Governance: Familiarity with ASD ISM and Essential Eight compliance.
