We are supporting a leading banking client in Brussels who is seeking a Freelance AI Expert for a long-term engagement. The focus of this mission is to introduce artificial intelligence into customer information gathering and processing in the context of KYC (Know Your Customer) and CDD (Customer Due Diligence).

Project Scope

The project aims to improve the way personal and regulatory information (e.g. ID, profession, source of wealth, UBOs, etc.) is collected, validated, and stored. Today, these processes require significant manual effort from analysts. By leveraging AI, the goal is to reduce manual workloads while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Your role will involve:

• Analysing existing KYC/CDD workflows and identifying where AI can create value.
• Evaluating, selecting, and implementing suitable AI models, including potential use of large language models for document classification or summarisation.
• Designing and developing integration pipelines to embed AI solutions into production systems.
• Supporting deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimisation of models.
• Collaborating closely with compliance, data, and IT teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant.

Required Expertise

Technical Skills

• Strong background in data collection, preparation, and processing.
• Hands-on experience in model selection, development, and integration.
• Proficiency in model evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with large language models and their practical applications.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical thinking and ability to frame problems effectively.
• Skilled in translating business needs into AI-driven technical solutions.
• Clear and confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in change management and user training.
• Awareness of ethical AI practices, including bias detection and mitigation.
