SWARM Biotactics is a global pioneer in biorobotics, currently in its start-up phase. Founded by an experienced team, the company is solidly financed and will develop biorobots - initially based on insects - for a wide range of applications.

We are an internationally oriented team based in Kassel (Germany), and we are currently accepting applications for a Neuroscientist to join us at the earliest mutually convenient time.

Essential qualifications & experience

• PhD in Biology, Neuroscience, Entomology, or related field (completed or near completion)
• Strong foundation in neuroanatomy, ideally with a focus on insects
• Familiarity with experimental behavioural studies, ideally involving insects

Desirable knowledge & experience

• Previous work conducted on electrophysiology
• Microsurgical techniques
• Basic knowledge of electronics

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test novel control strategies for insect-based biorobots
• Optimise the current stimulation methods
• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate biological insights with technological design
