Freelance Data Scientist (Energy Optimisation) | €700–€850pd | German Speaking | 6–12 months

Location: Remote first (must be based in Germany)

Contract Length: 6–12 months

Day Rate: €700–€850pd

Language: C1 German & English required

We’re seeking a Freelance Data Scientist to support a leading smart energy programme focused on optimising heat pumps, building energy systems, and predictive control solutions.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects that directly impact sustainability and smart energy use.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Science/Machine Learning
• Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
• Hands-on with time-series modelling, optimisation algorithms, or reinforcement learning
• Experience with IoT / sensor data, building energy data, or HVAC/heat pump systems
• Cloud experience with AWS or GCP data & AI services
• Solid SQL and data modelling skills
• Exposure to MLOps workflows and CI/CD for ML
• Previous freelance or contract experience advantageous
