Within the GCAP Joint Venture (Edgewing), in the GCAP Technical Leadership UO, we are looking for a Product Owner for GCAP HQ in Reading (UK).
Edgewing (https://www.edgewing.com/about-us) is an international joint venture established by BAE Systems, Leonardo, and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement Co. Ltd. (JAIEC) to lead the development of next-generation defence and aerospace systems. The Product Owner (IAM) is responsible for defining and managing the Identity & Access Management (IAM) Product vision, strategy, and end-to-end delivery across the full Product lifecycle in partnership with relevant business stakeholders. This role is focused on maximising value by building useful and robust identity & access management solutions. The Product Owner (IAM) leads the Product team to fulfil business needs by delivering new Product increments.
Key Capability Accountabilities and Objectives
- Partner with key business stakeholders to shape high-level IAM requirements, compiling these needs into an overall IAM Product strategy that is aligned with wider business and Digital Information goals and priorities.
- Manage the IAM Product team to deliver the agreed Product roadmap, delivering valuable, robust, and secure IAM solutions for the business.
- Act as the key interlock to the business, partnering with key business stakeholders to translate their needs into Product requirements (e.g., Epics, Features).
- Elicit detailed Product requirements (e.g., User Stories) as required.
- Prioritise and manage the IAM Product backlog based on business value, dependencies, and Product team capacity.
- Responsible for security, compliance, and risk management for the IAM Product.
- Accountable for overall IAM Product performance, including but not limited to delivery velocity, escalated incident resolution, Product roadmap realisation.
- Provide functional test support to the IAM Product team as required, ensuring developed solutions are aligned to agreed specifications.
- Act as the ‘Voice of the Customer’ in the IAM Product team, advocating for a positive user experience (e.g., accessibility) at all stages of the Product lifecycle.
- Act as a key escalation point for the Digital Information function and business where it relates to IAM Product matters.
- Partner with the Technology Delivery Senior Manager to align IAM Product capacity with relevant Digital Information Portfolio items.
- Supports Solution Architects in shaping both IAM-specific and closely related Product solutions, ensuring inter-Product dependencies to deliver larger, integrated solutions that are properly accounted for and managed.
- Advise business and Digital Information stakeholders on the latest technological developments, informing new functional opportunities.
Objectives
- Establish the IAM Product team, including a clear vision, strategy, and prioritised backlog for development.
- Lead ongoing delivery activities for the IAM Product team, ensuring the periodic release of valuable Product increments.
- Ensure all IAM Product increments and delivery activities are aligned with Digital Information policies and processes, as well as regulatory and organisational standards.

- Senior (5-10 anni).
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Comprehensive experience managing IT delivery, from requirements elicitation through to release, preferably demonstrated through 5 years relevant industry experience.
- Solid understanding of IAM concepts, technologies and protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP), preferably demonstrated through relevant professional roles.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with IAM platforms (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, or ForgeRock).
- Evidenced ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior business stakeholders, translating their needs into workable technology solutions.
- Adept storyteller with a strong ability to convey complex technology and security ideas to non-conversant audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with an ability to define complex Product uses cases and identify their associate value.
- Experience with identity governance tools (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt).
- Formal line management experience, preferably in the context of medium sized IT delivery teams.
- Ability to align IAM initiatives with business goals and market trends.
- Ability to quickly respond to various challenges and identify appropriate solutions.
- High ethical standards when handling confidential information.
- Good command of the English language, including setting tasks and instructions, providing feedback, creating reports, documents, and other written materials.
Desiderable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledgeable in the practical application of Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum), with demonstrable experience of upskilling teams in Agile.
- Good understanding of Product performance metrics, with evidenced ability to improve overall Product performance (e.g., defect rate, downtime, velocity).
- Experience in evaluating contractor and supplier performance in the context of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Language Skills: English C1.
