Job Description

  • _This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a six-month fully on-site onboarding period. The hybrid work schedule includes a bank of 60 days/year to be used as remote days on Tuesdays or Thursdays only. This position has an anticipated salary of $60,000-$65,000/year, commensurate with experience._**

The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a Front-End Web Developer to join the Marketing & Communications team. This position plays a vital role in crafting, maintaining, and enhancing the IU Advancement digital presence through user-centered design and innovative development.

In this role, you'll contribute to building and refining user-friendly, accessible, and visually compelling websites for IU Foundation and IU Alumni Association initiatives. You will collaborate with designers, writers, and project managers to bring web experiences to life that align with brand standards and drive engagement. Expect to be involved in a mix of regular updates, strategic projects, and creative problem-solving to address user needs and business goals. You'll also be encouraged to bring new ideas and work proactively with stakeholders to ensure the web ecosystem is modern, responsive, and data-informed.

Qualifications

**Education & Experience**

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in front-end web development required.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript required.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (Cascade CMS a plus) required.
  • Experience with responsive, mobile-first design and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards required.
  • Experience with web analytics tools like Google Analytics or Matomo preferred.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile workflows is preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit or higher education settings preferred.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like Angular or React preferred.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

  • Strong UI/UX sensibility with a visual mindset and attention to design details.
  • Ability to bring fresh, forward-thinking design solutions.
  • Knowledge of mobile-friendly and accessible web standards.
  • Effective communicator who is comfortable engaging stakeholders and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
