Freelance Machine Learning Engineer

Montash has partnered with a leading organisation to deliver production-ready AI solutions, and we’re now looking to engage a freelance AI/ML Engineer with a strong focus on industrialising machine learning pipelines.

The Role:

As an AI/ML Engineer, you’ll act as the bridge between Data Science and IT Production, ensuring that ML models are not only functional but fully integrated, monitored, and scalable in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and automate robust ML pipelines ready for production deployment
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to translate models into scalable solutions
• Support deployment with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure alignment
• Ensure continuous monitoring, retraining, and version control of models in live environments
• Drive integration of AI services with appropriate data flow, ingestion, and real-time architecture

Required Experience:

• 3+ years in ML engineering or related production environments
• Strong hands-on skills with Python (incl. async programming & optimisation)
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of AI platforms, Spark, ELT/ETL tools, and data visualisation is a plus
• Agile mindset with strong communication skills and stakeholder awareness
• Fluent in English and ideally Dutch/French
