We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join a software development project focused on the integration and modernization of financial and accounting systems. The role involves designing and implementing technical solutions in a client-server environment with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

About The Job Senior Java Developer

- Location: Primarily remote, with occasional on-site presence (approx. 10% of workdays) in Regensburg, Germany.
- Workload: Full-time, 40 hours per week (flexible daily distribution).
- Duration: 18 months, with two possible extensions of 18 months each.
- Start: From January 2026 (Calendar Week 01/2026).
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join a software development project focused on the integration and modernization of financial and accounting systems. The role involves designing and implementing technical solutions in a client-server environment with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior member of the software development team, responsible for technical frameworks such as code structures and libraries.
- Implement technical and functional requirements as part of ongoing projects.
- Provide input and leadership in creating and refining technical concepts.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Support quality assurance activities, including test execution and documentation.
- Transfer knowledge and ensure smooth collaboration between all project stakeholders.
- Work primarily in a remote setting, with occasional on-site presence (approx. 10%).
- Proven experience as a Java Developer, ideally in enterprise-level client-server applications.
- Strong knowledge of Java Enterprise technologies (e.g., Enterprise Java Beans, messaging technologies).
- Experience with Swing-based clients and XML/text-based interfaces is desirable.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results within deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to undergo a basic security clearance procedure.
- Residence in Germany (remote work is only permitted within Germany).
- German language proficiency at C1 level
