As a startup working closely with dynamic New York-based stakeholders, we’re seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to lead the development of our platform’s core architecture. Our task manager blends productivity and wellbeing by leveraging AI (with LLM-powered insights) to analyze, prioritize, and optimize tasks. As a Senior Back-End Developer, you’ll be responsible for building the platform’s foundation from scratch, designing robust APIs, and integrating cutting-edge AI services. You’ll collaborate closely with our Senior Front End Developer, UX/UI Designer, Software Architect, Product Manager and New York-based stakeholders to bring the vision to life.

This is a greenfield project, offering you the freedom to architect the back-end, experiment with modern technologies, and deliver high-performance, scalable solutions.

As a Senior Back-End Developer, You Will:

• Design and implement the core back-end architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services to power intelligent task prioritization and insights
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with mobile and web clients
• Collaborate closely with front-end and mobile developers, UX/UI Designer and Product Manager to ensure smooth data exchange and consistent functionality
• Participate in grooming, planning, and technical discussions, driving architectural decisions and best practices
• Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing, and continuous integration practices
• Optimize the system for future scalability and maintainability as the platform grows

We Expect You to:

• Bring 5+ years of professional back-end development experience
• Be proficient in .NET or Node.js (your choice of stack for this project)
• Have proven experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Have experience designing and working with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server)
• Demonstrate hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM services into applications
• Possess excellent problem-solving and architectural design skills
• Be fluent in English (written and spoken) for smooth communication with the team and stakeholders
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of technical decisions

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure (cloud hosting, AI services, DevOps pipelines)
• Background in task management or productivity-focused applications
• Familiarity with microservices and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• A university degree in Computer Science or a related field

Salary

Gross salary FROM 5,000 EUR based on skills and experience.
