Job summary:

As a Software Developer at Paro, you’ll work closely with the CEO and CTO in a flat, collaborative environment. Or, in other words, you’ll sit around the table brainstorming with Marc and Frank. You’ll develop new features, maintain existing functionality, and help improve the overall user experience of our products. Whether you prefer to get feedback directly from users or prefer to stay in the flow uninterrupted as you work, whatever your work style is, you’ll fit in with us. You’ll have the freedom to contribute in ways that play to your strengths, whether that be backend logic, frontend functionality, or optimizing integrations. 

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain for our Laravel (PHP)-based applications.
• Collaborate directly with team members on product development.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code, ensuring high software quality.
• Integrate external APIs and manage SQL databases.
• Contribute to testing and automation to improve product reliability.
• Take initiative on new ideas and improvements: your input will shape the future of our products.
• Occasionally defend your table tennis title against the team 😉.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with Laravel (PHP).
• Basic knowledge of both frontend and backend development.
• HBO or WO level education.
• Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
• Proficient in Dutch or English.
• Self-starter with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with testing frameworks and automation.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Experience managing SQL databases.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch.
• Experience creating integrations with external APIs.
• Interest in learning additional programming languages.
• Strong table tennis skills (seriously, it’s a plus).
