DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Consultant with strong Azure expertise to join an enterprise project in Göteborg. The consultant will be embedded within the local engineering team, driving end-to-end software delivery lifecycle practices with a focus on automation, security, scalability, and resilience.

This role requires a hands-on engineer with a proven track record in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and security automation, capable of shaping a high-performing DevOps culture.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Delivery Lifecycle

• Collaborate with stakeholders to align development goals with operational needs.
• Facilitate close collaboration between dev, QA, and operations for smooth deployments.
• Enable automated testing pipelines (unit, integration, acceptance) to ensure quality.

CI/CD & Automation

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitLab.
• Automate code integration, testing, and deployments for reliable releases.
• Ensure frequent, predictable, and low-touch deployments via release automation.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible.
• Standardize environment creation to improve scalability and consistency.

Monitoring & Observability

• Implement monitoring and alerting with OpenSearch, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or equivalent tools.
• Centralize logging for debugging and performance insights.
• Support incident management, on-call processes, and root cause analysis.

Security & Compliance (DevSecOps)

• Integrate security scanning within CI/CD (“shift-left security”).
• Manage secrets securely and enforce role-based access controls (RBAC).
• Ensure systems meet compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).

Collaboration & Culture

• Foster a strong DevOps mindset within the team—collaboration, transparency, and shared responsibility.
• Facilitate continuous feedback loops to drive process improvements.
• Mentor the team on automation, best practices, and DevOps methodologies.

Performance & Reliability

• Optimize system performance across APIs, databases, and cloud services.
• Manage and optimize Azure cloud costs.
• Design resilient architectures with auto-scaling, HA, failover, and disaster recovery.

Governance & Incident Management

• Ensure operational processes are auditable and compliant.
• Drive structured incident response and postmortem analysis.
• Document processes, incidents, and improvements for long-term traceability.
