Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Centre Network Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and maintain the network infrastructure within our data centers. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance of network services that support mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain data centre networks (LAN/WAN/MPLS, routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Perform network monitoring and analysis to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, performance issues, and hardware failures.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies (firewall rules, ACLs, segmentation).
  • Install and support network hardware (routers, switches, load balancers, etc.).
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, cloud teams, and security teams to support infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain documentation for network topology, procedures, and change management.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during maintenance windows or incidents.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, capacity expansion, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Support data center migrations and new build-outs as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in a network engineering role, preferably in a data center environment.
  • Proficient with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar networking platforms.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, NAT, VPNs, and load balancing.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, NetFlow).
  • Hands-on experience with firewall appliances (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, ASA).
  • Understanding of cabling standards, rack-and-stack procedures, and physical data center layouts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
