A purpose-driven outdoor apparel company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, dedicated to using their business, investments, and influence to drive meaningful change in protecting the planet is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join their IT team. As a certified B Corporation, they are internationally recognized for their commitment to environmental activism and product excellence.
As an IT Systems Administrator you will design, develop, and maintain their IT systems, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security. You will also oversee infrastructure and system installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance. This role also involves implementing backups, security measures, and redundancy strategies while managing third-party vendors.
In this role, you will identify potential issues proactively, develop solutions, and automate processes to enhance operational efficiency and support smarter business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Implement global technology strategies and collaborate with the international IT team and third-party vendors
- Gather system requirements from stakeholders and oversee outsourced work to ensure accurate and timely delivery
- Manage and optimize systems for high availability, resource efficiency, and security compliance
- Automate processes using scripting technologies and provide technical support for onboarding new applications and services
- Conduct system installations, configurations, and testing to maintain security standards and ensure compliance with industry frameworks
- Manage backup operations, troubleshoot service interruptions, and perform root-cause analysis to implement preventive measures
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in computer engineering, systems administration, or consulting
- Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cloud environments) are preferred
- Proficient with Palo Alto and Cisco technologies, and Microsoft Azure
- Experience with monitoring/logging platforms like Datadog
- Strong background in vendor and stakeholder management. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls)
- Fluent in English, with additional languages being a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
