Job Overview:

The Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for leading the company's enterprise-wide risk management framework, identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating all types of risks, including but not limited to operational risk, cybersecurity risk, liquidity risk, credit risk, and market risk. Your mission is to ensure the security of company assets and business continuity, particularly in the high-risk cryptocurrency sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Focus intensely on operational risk and cybersecurity risk: manage processes related to private key generation, storage, and usage (cold/hot wallet management, multi-signature, HSM, etc.) to prevent hacking and internal fraud.
  • Develop Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).
  • Assess the credit risk of counterparties (e.g., exchanges, liquidity providers).
  • Monitor market risk associated with cryptocurrency market volatility.
  • Work closely with the CTO to ensure the security and robustness of the technology architecture; collaborate with the CCO to ensure compliance risks are effectively managed.
  • Regularly report to the Board and senior management on the company's risk profile, significant risk events, and mitigation strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of risk management experience in financial institutions (preferably banks, brokerages, or FinTech/crypto companies), with at least 3 years in a risk management leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of risks unique to cryptocurrency custody, especially private key management, blockchain settlement, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to model risk.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to make critical decisions under uncertainty.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Risk management certifications such as FRM, PRM are preferred.
