We are now seeking a Consultant Data Scientist with expertise in geospatial data, logistics, and applied data science to join our growing team
The Role:
You will work directly with customers to design, develop, and deliver data-driven solutions that address complex challenges in mapping, routing, supply chains, and geo-enabled services. You will combine technical expertise with strong consulting skills to translate business needs into practical models and insights.
Key responsibilities:
- Engage with clients to understand challenges in logistics, transportation, and mapping.
- Collect, process, and analyze large-scale geospatial and logistics datasets.
- Design and implement predictive and optimization models (e.g., routing, demand forecasting, resource allocation).
- Build scalable tools and visualizations that communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to proposal writing, project scoping, and delivery of tailored solutions.
- Stay up to date with advances in machine learning, spatial analysis, and logistics technology.
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist (at least 3 x years)
- Strong background in geospatial or logistics based projects ( such as GIS tools, spatial databases, APIs, remote sensing, routing algorithms, knowledge of logistics and supply chain modeling)
- Proficiency in Python or R for data science, and SQL for working with large datasets
- Familiarity with visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, or open-source equivalents)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
Desirable:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, Kepler.gl, etc.)
- Experience with real-time data streams (IoT, telematics)
