Overview:
The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s risk management framework. This role ensures the effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks, in alignment with regulatory requirements and shareholder expectations.
How Will You Make An Impact?
1. Risk Management Framework Development & Implementation
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the risk management framework in alignment with ISO 31000, COSO ERM, and UAE regulatory standards.
- Ensure risk policies, procedures, and tools are current, effective, and aligned with the organization’s risk appetite.
2. Risk Identification, Assessment & Mitigation
- Lead risk identification workshops and scenario planning across all business units.
- Maintain and update risk registers and heat maps; assign ownership and accountability to risk owners.
- Collaborate with departments to develop and embed risk mitigation strategies into the corporate strategy.
3. Governance, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Interface with the Audit & Risk Committee, Board of Directors, and Executive Management on key risk exposures and metrics.
- Ensure compliance with UAE federal laws, including SCA, Central Bank guidelines, AML/CFT frameworks, and ADX/DFM requirements.
- Prepare timely and accurate regulatory risk reports and disclosures.
4. Strategic & Emerging Risk Management
- Evaluate and report on strategic risks such as ESG, digital transformation, geopolitical, and macroeconomic issues.
- Monitor emerging risks and advise leadership on their implications and required responses.
5. Risk Culture & Awareness
- Drive a strong risk culture through targeted training, awareness programs, and leadership engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and business unit heads on risk-related issues.
6. Risk Appetite & Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Develop and maintain a Risk Appetite Framework aligned with corporate objectives.
- Define, monitor, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support proactive risk management.
7. Business Continuity & Crisis Management
- Oversee the creation, testing, and continuous improvement of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Crisis Management Plans.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution during risk or crisis events.
8. Risk Systems & Technology
- Recommend and implement enterprise risk management systems, tools, and dashboards.
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to address technology, data privacy, and cyber risks.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in risk software tools (e.g., SAP GRC, MetricStream, LogicManager, etc.).
- Qualified by IRM Institute of Risk Management.
- Certified by Enterprise Risk Management.
Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant functional experience.
