Summary/Objective

The Network Administrator works closely with the Systems Administrator and the Headquarters IT Help desk to ensure our network is functioning efficiently and is proactive in keeping our environment secure and up to date with the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures.
  • Acts as an escalation resource for IT Help Desk and field system support technicians.
  • Responds to service request tickets that are assigned.
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Implement security measures to protect network and data integrity.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with the I.T. Operations Manager and vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Acts at Network Technical lead on I.T. Infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain and update network documentation and diagrams.
  • On-Call required.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • 5 years related experience.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls, routers, and network operations required.
  • Proficient with Cisco Meraki Network Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
  • Proficient with Dell Switches.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated understanding of DNS and DHCP.
  • Experience with network security practices and tools.
