Job Opportunity: B&W Hair & Skin Care Product Designer

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Overview

This position leads R&D interventions for Hair & Skin product development and regulatory compliance across India & Nepal BU. It involves end-to-end ownership of product development, from concept to deployment, in close collaboration with global R&D and cross-functional teams. driving superior consumer experiences and impactful innovations

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Product Development: Lead formulation, pilot trials, stability testing, and main plant trials for Dove Hair & Skin products.
• Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Collaborate with SEAC and regulatory teams to ensure consumer safety and timely approvals.
• Innovation Delivery: Partner with global R&D and cross-functional teams to launch compliant, high-performing products.
• Strategic Savings: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the R&D framework.
• Technology Adaptation: Leverage the Maximising Technology Impact toolkit to elevate Dove’s B&W portfolio.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with brand, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless innovation landing.
• Project Management: Drive rigor, risk mitigation, and safety across all project phases while managing stakeholder expectations.
  
  

Requirement

• Education: BSc with relevant experience, or B Tech/M Tech in Chemical Engineering or Cosmetic Technology.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in product development or R&D roles.

Technical & Scientific Skills

• Formulation Expertise: Deep understanding of surfactants, emulsifiers, active ingredients, and sensory attributes in hair and skin care.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret lab data, stability results, and consumer test outcomes to guide product decisions.
• Process Engineering: Familiarity with scale-up processes from lab to pilot to main plant trials.
• Regulatory Acumen: Knowledge of India & Nepal cosmetic regulations, labeling norms, and safety standards.
• Sustainability Awareness: Experience with green chemistry principles and sustainable ingredient sourcing.

• Innovation Pipeline Management: Ability to manage multiple projects across different stages of development.
• Digital R&D Tools: Proficiency in using digital platforms for specification management, formulation tracking, and project documentation.
