As a Staff Software Engineer you will provide technical leadership and strategic direction across our product engineering organization. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to shape our technical architecture, drive innovation, and mentor teams while working within our Product Operating Model. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic programs of work that align with our core business and technical strategies.

You’ll be joining a team responsible for delivering pricing capabilities for our home buying customers. This includes maintaining and evolving a suite of applications that calculate discounts and package offerings. The team is currently undergoing a significant transformation program, making this an exciting time to come on board.

• Lead the development of strategic technical initiatives and provide architectural oversight across multiple product teams
• Drive technical excellence and innovation, including the adoption of AI technologies, across the engineering organization
• Provide high-level technical consultation across projects and delivery teams while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical initiatives
• Champion and establish best practices, industry standards, and quality frameworks across teams
• Partner with product leadership to ensure technical strategy aligns with business objectives
• Mentor and upskill engineering teams while fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices including test automation, CI/CD, and monitoring
  
  

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:

• Full-stack development expertise across frontend and backend technologies
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture and microservices
• Experience with modern databases (both SQL and NoSQL)
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of GenAI tools and platforms
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• Strong database skills – stored procedures, functions, jobs, general database querying, troubleshooting
