Key Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable PHP code and develop custom APIs while managing optimal database structures.
- Design, manage, and optimize MySQL schemas with indexing to ensure scalability, performance, and data integrity.
- Build and document RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services for seamless system communication.
- Monitor and improve backend performance through caching, database tuning, and scalable system design.
- Apply best practices and up-to-date measures to safeguard applications, databases, and APIs from vulnerabilities.
- Work with frontend developers, designers, and stakeholders, participating in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Create unit/integration tests, debug backend systems, and implement automated testing where possible.
- Track system health, resolve issues proactively, and update/maintain existing applications.
- Own code quality, test thoroughly before deployment, and document changes with clear communication of dependencies.
Essential Requirements
- Strong proficiency in PHP
- Extensive experience with MySQL
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs
- Proficiency with Git for collaborative development
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing methodologies
Experience with ExtJS, Node.js, or Next.js
Familiarity with AWS services and deployment
Experience with Elasticsearch or MongoDB
Basic understanding of ExtJS for occasional UI field additions
Experience with relevant PHP frameworks and development tools
