We’re now looking for a Lead Backend Engineer who’s as comfortable making architectural decisions as they are jumping into code. Someone who can guide and mentor the team, improve processes, and help us ship scalable, high-quality products on time. • Stay hands-on – Spend a significant share of your time coding (Python) while guiding complex backend projects.
• Mentor and guide the team (6 backend developers) – Help developers upskill and overcome technical challenges

• Collaborate closely – Work directly with our Head of Product, Senior Software Architect, and Product Designer

💼 What you’ll do

• Technical leadership & hands-on development – Own backend technical decisions, scalability planning, and feature coordination. You'll be our technical subject matter expert for the backend, partnering with our architect to make key decisions.
• Hands-on development – Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services in Python. Lead complex feature implementations from idea to production.
• Mentorship – You will be the team’s first point of contact for technical questions. You’ll help developers overcome challenges, grow their skills through code reviews and knowledge sharing, and champion best practices.
• Process and System Improvement – You will have the autonomy to improve our development processes. Your first goals will be to help us create more reliable estimations, streamline our release workflows, and systematically reduce tech debt.
• Scrum Master backup – Occasionally act as a Scrum Master

🛠️ Our tech stack

• Primary: Python, React
• Secondary: Legacy jQuery (being phased out)
• Cloud: AWS + GCP
• Databases: MariaDB, PostgreSQL
• Practices: Agile – 3-week sprints + 1-week cooldown
• Bonus points for: Docker, Kubernetes, SRE, DevOps, security, AI experience

🎯 What we’re looking for

• A senior engineer with strong experience building scalable backend systems in Python.
• Comfortable mentoring developers and leading technical discussions. You enjoy helping others upskill.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Solid database skills (PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
• A pragmatic problem-solver who is motivated by challenges and wants to have a direct impact.
• Strong interest in AI

💼 Compensation & Ownership

We believe in a compensation model, which includes fixed salary, variable compensation, benefits, and the opportunity to become a shareholder in TalentAdore. At the beginning of employment, the fixed salary is approximately 4800-5800€ per month, with a tailored total compensation model based on your previous experience and financial situation.
