Your role
The successful candidate will join the Security, Reasoning and Validation (SERVAL) research group and work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maxime Cordy to transform cutting-edge research into usable, high-impact software tools. The role is part of a broader initiative to support the deployment of trustworthy AI systems by building open-source projects, demonstrators, and prototypes that reflect the group's academic and industrial research contributions.
The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Act as the main contributor to an open-source project related to AI system evaluation, with the aim to develop it into a real product and foster a user and contributor community
- Design and build demonstrators to showcase academic and industrial research outcomes
- Prototype with emerging technologies, frameworks, and methods related to AI and software engineering
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing efforts and promote best practices in software development
Your profile
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Bachelor's degree can be considered if the candidate has extensive experience and/or outstanding skills
- Proven experience as a full-stack developer (frontend, backend, deployment)
- Strong knowledge of Python development practices and tools/frameworks; other programming languages are an asset
- Ability to lead and take ownership of software development projects
- Ideally, experience contributing to or managing open-source software projects
- Strong communication skills and an appetite for engaging with stakeholders and building community around developed tools
