About the Role

As a Software Engineer – Integrator, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge software solutions and integrating them with hardware components, working on projects that help research institutes achieve scientific breakthroughs in the field of fusion. Curious about the kind of projects we mean? Have you heard of ITER? It’s one of the most complex scientific projects in human history, designed to demonstrate the technological and scientific feasibility of fusion power. You will be designing and integrating control systems for ITER diagnostic systems.


We understand that our domain is highly specialized, so don’t worry if you’re not familiar with it yet. We will provide you with the necessary knowledge as you work with us. Nevertheless, proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a readiness to tackle and explore unknown challenges with curiosity are highly valued.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software applications for control and data acquisition systems.
  • Implement real-time data acquisition, control logic, and communication protocols.
  • Perform integration testing with hardware to validate performance, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Participate in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand and address project stakeholders’ issues.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.



Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in C++ programming language
  • Familiar with device integration and testing.
  • Understanding of SW & HW architecture.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.


Education

  • B.Sc. in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical disciplines.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.


Bonus points if you have/are

  • Knowledge about nuclear fusion.
  • Basic understanding of FPGA, PLC and their programming concepts.
  • Familiar with NI DAQ systems (cRIO, PXI…).
  • Familiar with industrial communication interfaces and protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Serial)
  • Familiar with EPICS.
  • Familiar with Linux environment.
  • Familiar with uTCA.
