About the Role
As a Consulting Engineer, you will drive the technology design, implementation, and optimization of customer projects. This role combines strategic advisory, technical delivery, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure world-class service across network and data center environments.
Responsibilities
- Drive technology design, implementation, execution, and optimization for customer accounts.
- Collaborate with customers to plan, design, configure, and diagnose network and cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Support presales activities and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Assist with integration, implementation, and service assurance of network tools and systems.
- Build customer simulations in lab environments to validate designs and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Create and deliver technical documentation, portals, and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Ensure alignment of technical deliverables with customer business outcomes.
- Support customers through technology transitions and evolving solution architectures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including during escalations.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor and build long-term business relationships with customers across the European region.
- Lead or contribute to complex Data Center and Cloud infrastructure projects.
- Resolve cross-functional technical issues involving network (ACI, VXLAN), NMS, and automation.
- Test and validate infrastructure solutions in internal labs.
- Provide technical support during hardware and software upgrades.
- Participate in regular status updates and customer meetings.
- Manage deliverables while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Support Project Managers in project tracking and resolving issues.
Scope & Complexity
- Collaborate with fellow Consulting Engineers across technology domains to optimize customer outcomes.
- Interact with individual contributors, managers, and customers regularly.
- Address moderately complex problems and evaluate alternative solutions before final decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting Networking and Data Center solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols: ACI, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs, VPC, QoS, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus devices.
- Good understanding of modern Data Center architectures and trends.
- Practical experience with Cisco ACI environments.
Desired Skills (Nice to Have)
- Knowledge of broader network technologies (security, SP, enterprise).
- Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with OS administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows Server).
- Understanding of virtualization and container technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
