Our client, a growing logistics solutions company, is looking to hire an experienced Back End Developer to join their team in Toronto.

This is a critical role on the product development team. We are looking for a driven, dedicated individual with a broad range of experience developing and managing modern hosted applications and APIs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain modern, scalable, server side applications in Node.JS
• Build and manage restful APIs to support front end and third-party integrations
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including performance monitoring, indexing and query tuning
• Work with front end developers to integrate UI and ensure smooth user experience
• Maintain quality code and version control using Git
• Monitor and troubleshoot back end performance
• User authentication and authorization across systems
• Support data migration for new clients
• Assist with monitoring and management of hosting environments and other tasks as necessary to ensure quality and reliability of product offerings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in S/W Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Proven expertise developing sever side applications in Node.JS using frameworks like Nest.JS or Express.JS
• Solid understanding of server-side templating and CSS preprocessing
• Strong JavaScript skills
• Demonstrated experience with secure API development
• Understanding of front end technologies like CSS3, HTML5, etc
• Experience with AWS services, Terraform and IAC, containerization and/or CI/CD pipeline development would be an asset

NOTE: this position is hybrid, with requirements to be in office 3 days / week and potential travel to customer sites for business meetings
