Senior People Specialist
Role Overview
The People & Capability Specialist will support the execution of key people priorities across Canada and the U.S., with a strong emphasis on HR program management (performance, talent, engagement surveys), Employee Relations, HR processes (Global mobility, Recruiting, workforce metrics and reporting). This role partners closely with People Business Partners, Centers of Expertise, and business leaders to ensure HR programs are implemented effectively and in alignment with provincial regulations.

Senior People Specialist
Role Overview
The People & Capability Specialist will support the execution of key people priorities across Canada and the U.S., with a strong emphasis on HR program management (performance, talent, engagement surveys), Employee Relations, HR processes (Global mobility, Recruiting, workforce metrics and reporting). This role partners closely with People Business Partners, Centers of Expertise, and business leaders to ensure HR programs are implemented effectively and in alignment with provincial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of HR initiatives and programs in Canada and the US
- Analyze workforce data to generate insights that support compliance and strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to position management and headcount tracking
- Provide guidance on the use of HR systems (e.g., Workday)
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence, Employees and leaders on general HR questions and concerns
- Manages timely delivery of day-to-day People & Capability activities by working with key stakeholders across the business
- Supports the communications and roll-out of People & Capability initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee experience
- Drills down on data analysis to generate actionable insights for People Business Partners and business leaders within specific functions
- Lends additional support to People Business Partners and the business to ensure HR systems and platforms are utilized effectively with a focus on end user experience
- Partners with the Head of HR for the Americas on deck preparation and special projects
- Solid understanding of HR practices, Performance and Talent Management, Employee Relations, Employee Surveys, Workforce Analytics, Organizational Design, etc.
- Experience in HR roles within matrixed organizations, ideally with exposure to compliance and risk management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in HR, employment law, or occupational health & safety preferred.
