Lagged Out Interactive is a growing indie game studio focused on building immersive, story-driven experiences with rich mechanics and meaningful depth. We’re not here for churn-and-burn live services — we’re creating games that respect players and the people who build them.
We’re looking for a game developer to help bring our projects to life. Our current titles are complex, system-driven, and blend narrative with tightly designed gameplay.
What You’ll Do
- Develop core systems in Godot
- Build and refine gameplay mechanics, input, movement, AI, UI, and tools
- Collaborate closely with the team members
- Contribute to a strong codebase with clean, modular, and maintainable code
You’re a Fit If You:
- Are passionate about your craft
- Have strong experience with Godot, or are highly motivated to learn it fast
- Are fluent in programming fundamentals (ideally with one shipped or playable project)
- Communicate clearly and work well async
- Care about polish, performance, and player-first design
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with complex gameplay systems or movement-heavy mechanics
- Familiarity with FPS, action, or adventure genres
- UI/UX, shader, or tool development experience
- Indie mindset and creative flexibility
What We Offer
- Remote contract work with flexible hours
- A respectful, creative, and collaborative environment
- Direct input into systems and design — no corporate bloat
- Potential for long-term collaboration and future revenue-sharing
Pay Style
This is a contractor role. Payment is post-project completion, based on revenue from the game’s sales and contributions to the project. Full details will be discussed during the interview process.
