The Goal

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for…

  • Development and maintenance of scalable Java-based backend systems
  • Development of new features and functionality customer products and services, including the implementation of unit tests as and where required
  • Design and implementation of APIs and web services
  • Collaboration with front-end developers to ensure smooth interfaces
  • Analysing and optimising the performance of existing applications
  • Implementation of security and data protection standards
  • Participation in code reviews and continuous improvement of our development processes
  • Documentation and testing of the developed solutions

The Player

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in a traditional science subject, ideally computer science, engineering or information systems from a well regarded university;
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in in backend development with Java
  • Sound knowledge of backend frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate)
  • Development within Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Excellent teamwork skills within an agile team environment
  • Able to deal with changing priorities and based on requirements agreed with senior team members including, BA's QA's and software architects;
  • Experience in exposing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • A good understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience in the use of Git (GitHub)
  • Good English skills, both spoken and written
