Manager Embedded Software (m/f/d)

We design, develop and manufacture high-tech radar sensors for autonomous driving, intelligent traffic infrastructure and smart cities. We are looking for a leader of our Embedded Software department, who will drive the development of our embedded software technology and contribute to cutting edge solutions for radar systems.

You will lead a team of ~25 embedded software developers in the following fields:

• Bare metal base software / driver / BSP development (using C)
• Embedded Linux development
• Embedded Linux baseline, middleware and application development (using C++)
• Implementation of hardware accelerated algorithms (using low level language)
• Automated system testing
  
  

You will grow this team in the next years – taking this company with us to the next level.

Your Tasks

• You are responsible for coordinating projects and prioritizing tasks between the embedded software department and the automotive / traffic applications software departments, with strong customer focus
• Also, you have to lead the teams within your department by developing and maintaining strong teamwork mindset in collaboration with the group leaders and with other departments
• This includes coaching, motivating, managing and giving technical guidance to the team members
• You support the development and maintenance of software testing processes handled by our DevOps team
• You should strive for effectiveness in using the engineering resources and maintain high quality of the developed code
• As the department leader you will report directly to the CEO
  
  

Your Strengths

• Completed Master or PhD. in the field of software engineering, computer science or similar
• You have many years of experience in software technology, development methods & tools, software architecture, CI/CD, embedded Linux and C++
• Also, a deep understanding of embedded hard- and software
• You commit to achieve schedules and milestones and to spread this spirit into all teams
• Therefore, you can show high social and leadership skills, next to a strong motivation and result-driven personality
• You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to take on mentoring roles and organize feedback
• Next to fluent English skills, German would be a plus
