Position: Software Project Manager / Product Owner

Location: Limerick, Ireland (On-site 4 days per week)

Reporting to: Head of Engineering / Head of Product

Compensation: €75,000 base salary + 8% annual performance bonus

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Project Manager / Product Owner to work closely with our software development teams in Limerick. This hybrid role blends project management and product ownership, ensuring delivery of high-quality software solutions while maintaining a strong focus on backlog management, technical debt, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing software projects and teams, with the ability to balance business priorities and technical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Project & Delivery Management
• Plan, track, and deliver software projects on time and within scope.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
• Provide clear and timely reporting on project status to stakeholders.
• Product Ownership
• Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with stakeholders and development teams.
• Balance new feature development with managing technical debt and maintenance.
• Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Team Collaboration
• Work directly with developers, testers, and DevOps engineers to ensure clarity of requirements and priorities.
• Act as the key point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Foster a collaborative, Agile environment focused on quality delivery.
• Process & Continuous Improvement
• Champion Agile practices (Scrum / Kanban) and drive improvements in delivery processes.
• Ensure metrics and KPIs are in place to track progress and outcomes.
• Proactively identify areas of improvement across people, process, and technology.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in a software environment.
• Strong background in managing software teams and projects end-to-end.
• Demonstrated ability to manage product backlogs and prioritize effectively.
• Experience balancing feature delivery with addressing technical debt.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.

Desirable Skills

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), PMP, or equivalent certification.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working with distributed or cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of cloud, CI/CD, and modern software practices.
