- Designing, deploying, and maintaining Web server (httpd), Application Server (RedHat JBoss EAP), and other middleware components (e.g., Terraform/IaC resources, RedHat JBoss A-MQ, Kafka), across both on-premise and public cloud environments using IaaS and PaaS models.
- Evaluating and integrating new infrastructure solutions and emerging technologies, with a focus on cloud architecture (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), APIs, security, high availability, data replication, and operational resilience.
- Developing and maintaining automation frameworks, infrastructure-as-code scripts, and DevOps pipelines, including comprehensive documentation.
- Supporting approximately six major production deployments annually (typically scheduled on Saturdays).
- Collaborating independently with development, infrastructure, and information security teams to ensure successful delivery and integration.
- Documenting infrastructure architecture and security models, particularly for critical internet-facing systems.
- Working closely with other domain experts and reporting to the Head of Unit.
Required Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience configuring, deploying, and supporting Web and middleware infrastructure on Linux systems, particularly httpd and RedHat JBoss EAP.
- Deep understanding of multi-tier infrastructure challenges, especially in high availability, security, and transaction management.
- Ability to make, justify, and challenge infrastructure design decisions.
- Practical knowledge of TLS (PKI), including middleware configuration and certificate/key management.
