Head of AI & Data

Location: Dubai

Work Mode: Full On-site

Reporting Line: Direct report to the CEO

Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Head of Artificial Intelligence to lead the creation and development of the AI division from the ground up. This strategic role will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI within of our client which is engineering-focused organization, driving innovation and operational excellence through data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the AI strategy aligned with the company’s engineering goals.
• Build and lead high-performing data and AI teams, including data scientists, machine learning engineers, and data engineers.
• Identify opportunities for AI integration across products, services, and internal processes.
• Oversee the development and deployment of AI models and systems, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and executive teams to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
• Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge.
• Ensure ethical and responsible AI practices are embedded in all initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

• +5 years as a Head of Data or similar role, ideally within financial or enterprise environment
• Proven experience in building AI capabilities from scratch, ideally within engineering or technical environments.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team formation and management.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, data science, and AI infrastructure.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels, including C-suite.

Education:

• PhD or MSc in a relevant STEM field (Mathematics or Statistics preferred).
