Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer – Advanced Routing & Switching to join our team. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level LAN/WAN networks, resolving complex network issues, and ensuring network reliability, scalability, and performance. This individual will work independently on moderate to complex assignments while adhering to company policies, procedures, and SLAs.
Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 network operations support, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related incidents with minimal supervision.
- Design, plan, and execute network projects in alignment with business requirements.
- Conduct change reviews and impact analyses for proposed network changes.
- Identify areas of improvement, recommend solutions, and implement measures to reduce recurring faults.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute planned maintenance to address growth, hardware/software defects, and capacity requirements.
- Perform network capacity management and proactively monitor utilization trends.
- Drive service level improvements through monitoring enhancements, design optimization, and capacity management.
- Diagnose and resolve chronic or recurring network issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required.
- Perform firewall compliance analysis and implement approved firewall rule requests.
- Manage and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routers/switches, and F5 LTM load balancers (including upgrades).
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
- Leverage knowledge of AWS cloud for integration and troubleshooting; hands-on experience is highly valued.
- Ensure adherence to IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Handle ad hoc operational and project-based tasks as assigned.
- Ensure timely incident resolution in line with SLAs and proactively follow up on service requests.
- Coordinate with vendors for escalations and case resolution.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment and demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in networking domain.
- Preferred Certifications:
Palo Alto (PCNSE/PCNSA)
Cisco (CCNP/CCNA)
ITIL Foundation
AWS Cloud Practitioner
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching.
- Solid hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 LTM, and Load Balancer upgrades.
- Good understanding of AWS cloud technologies (work experience preferred).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of firewall and network security concepts.
- Familiarity with SSL offloading concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to new technologies quickly, and manage time efficiently.
- Team player with commitment to task ownership and timely delivery.
