Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Are you a detail-oriented, proactive professional looking to grow your career in commercial construction? We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our project teams in delivering high-quality interior construction projects across NYC.
About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for managing documentation, coordinating submittals and RFIs, tracking schedules, and supporting project closeout efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and drawing revisions.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical project files.
- Assist with project schedules, logistics, permits, and client communications.
- Prepare weekly project reports, including meeting minutes, progress photos, and logs.
- Support LEED documentation and coordination when applicable.
- Manage PlanGrid and Timberline updates for drawings, submittals, and logs.
- Facilitate third-party inspections and ensure all required documentation is in place.
- Oversee collection of closeout documents, warranties, and as-builts.
- Assist with procurement, purchase orders, and subcontractor coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project required; Timberline experience preferred.

Salary Range is from $70,000 to $90,000 annually depending on experience.
