PHP Junior Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PHP Junior Developer to support our digital insurance portals built on Laravel and Vue.js.

In this role, you will be working under the guidance of senior developers to handle bug fixes, performance improvements, and minor feature enhancements. You will also work closely with QA engineers and business analysts to ensure timely, high-quality releases that improve user experience and system reliability.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their expertise in modern PHP frameworks and contribute to impactful projects in the insurance and financial services domain.

Key Responsibilities

As a PHP Junior Developer, you will:

Support, maintain, and enhance existing digital portals using Laravel and Vue.js.
Identify and resolve bugs, implement fixes, and develop small-scale feature updates.
Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure smooth testing and deployment cycles.
Coordinate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical tasks.
Maintain comprehensive documentation and version control for all development work.
Assist with the integration of RESTful APIs and third-party services.
Participate actively in team meetings, code reviews, and agile development processes.
Support deployment activities on web servers and cloud environments.

Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates who bring:

2-3+ years of experience in PHP development using the Laravel Framework.
Hands-on experience with Vue.js for front-end development.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, MySQL database design, and Git version control.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Basic knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with Oracle SQL & PL/SQL is highly desirable.
Familiarity with building RESTful JSON web services.
Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and web development best practices.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
A collaborative mindset and ability to work independently when needed

Nice-to-Have (Preferred but not mandatory)

Prior exposure to insurance or financial services projects.
Experience working in agile or scrum-based teams.
Interest in learning new technologies and contributing to system architecture discussions.
