Role: Machine Learning Engineer
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Salary: £60,000 - £90,000 per annum
Location: Gloucestershire or Dorset region
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required with UKSV required.

As a Machine Learning Engineer you’ll be at the forefront of designing, building, and deploying production-grade software, infrastructure, and MLOps systems. Your work will directly contribute to solving high-impact problems in defence and national security.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building scalable software and infrastructure that leverages machine learning.
- Creating reusable tools to support ML system delivery.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including data scientists, designers, and product managers.
- Leading project scoping and design, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Engaging with clients to understand needs and provide technical expertise.
- Championing best practices for operationalising ML systems at scale.

Ideal Experience (70% match is great):
- Strong understanding of the ML lifecycle and deployment of models using frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Solid grasp of probability, statistics, and common ML techniques.
- Proficiency in Python and software engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
